Former Bunk 9 Bunk Counselor and Cassett Hill Head Counselor, Uncle Max Syken came from that great hatchery of SGF counselors - South Philadelphia High School - and joined the SGF staff post WWII.

Around the half-century, Uncle Max was an important part of the counseling "executive branch" along with Uncles Marty Forman and Mel Drukin.

Uncle Max says that his work at SGF was critical in steering him to both a teaching/administration career as well as a long second career as a camp counselor.
